Sara's work involves printmaking, drawing, painting, artists books, assemblages, text and image. Based in Newcastle she illustrates for design, advertising and publishing and exhibits in the UK and abroad, most recently at the Malaspina Gallery in Vancouver where she was artist in residence in October 2004.

"My Mother is a Troll" is Sara's first picture book working with Zed said. "I wanted the illustrations to be bold and simple to compliment the two colour printing. Creating a short, hairy mother was definitely the best bit!"
